Star Awards: George Lucas' Night of a Lifetime
June 10, 2005

Hollywood power couples Warren Beatty and Annette Bening and Harrison Ford and Calista Flockhart were among the stars who hit the red carpet Thursday night as the American Film Institute honored "Star Wars" creator, George Lucas, with its 33rd Life Achievement Award.

"I'm delighted to be here for George," said Ford. "He made an enormous difference in my career."

Steven Spielberg gave the night's honors and talked to "Extra" about how he met Lucas, a long time ago in a galaxyÖ well, not that far away.

"I've known George since 1967 when we met at UCLA when he was showing his USC student film," Spielberg revealed. "He has not changed. He's still the same big kid who's getting older, like we all are, but we enjoy and love movies the same way."

And it looks like Lucas, Spielberg and Ford will be teaming up once again very soon for another "Indiana Jones."

"I'm working on a script now with a writer, Jeff Nathanson," Lucas told us. "Hopefully we're going to get something done by fall, which Steven and Harrison will like, and then we'll move on from there."

You can watch the AFI's awards ceremony when it airs on the USA network on June 20th.
