Inside the Top-Secret Birth of Baby Brangelina
May 30, 2006
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are speaking out for the first time about their newest bundle of joy, Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt.
"Extra" has learned that Baby Shiloh arrived via cesarean section due to a breach presentation, and she weighed in at 7 pounds.
Daddy Brad was by Angie's side throughout the delivery, and according to People magazine, he even cut the umbilical cord.
People magazine, who broke the story, also released this official statement from the couple: "We would like to deeply thank the staff of the Cottage Medi-Clinic Hospital for all their kindness and commitment in assuring the successful birth of our daughter."
"Extra" has also learned that Los Angeles-based doctor James Rothbart was flown in with two other physicians back in April to handle the birth.
Today, Dr. Rothbart told People the Namibian nurses who assisted in the delivery were amazing.
New grandpa again Jon Voight says he can't wait to meet Shiloh, but he'll have to wait. The Jolie-Pitt clan will stay camped out in Africa until mid-June when they return to their $9 million Malibu spread.
