Tom Cruises through Water, Air and Streets of the Big Apple
May 3, 2006
"Mission: Impossible 3" mania rocked Manhattan Wednesday, as Tom Cruise kicked off a whirlwind Big Apple blitz.
Cruise first stopped by David Letterman's studio and treated fans to not one, but two, 15-minute autograph and photo sessions. Tom then hopped up on a car to give the crowd a better view, even removing his sunglasses at a fan's request.
Inside the crush of cameras, Cruise told "Extra" about his land, air and sea "Mission: Impossible 3" media blitz: "We got a boat, we got a helicopter, we got cars. I don't know about motorcycles."
But nothing brought a smile to Tom's face quite like the mention of his 2-week old daughter, Suri. "She's beautiful," Cruise told us.
And from Letterman's "Late Show" to "Good Morning America" to "Live with Regis and Kelly," the world's most famous father reached out and touched his fans. He even reduced one adoring man to tears.
Tom is cruising to at least seven stops around New York City, aboard everything from a boat to a fire truck and helicopter, raising the curtain on "Mission: Impossible 3," and you can bet "Extra" will be with the action hero every step of the way.
