Christian Slater Charged with Sexual Assault
Christian Slater had a run-in with the law early Tuesday morning on a New York City sidewalk after a woman claimed that he grabbed her buttocks.
Slater, who is currently starring in "The Glass Menagerie" on Broadway, was arrested around 2 a.m. after the woman flagged down a police officer and identified Christian as the culprit.
But Slater insisted, "I didn't do anything. This is bull****."
Just days ago, Christian told our Tanika Ray how much he enjoyed the anonymity of living in New York. "It seems right-sized," he said then. "It's not as overblown or crazy as it tends to be sometimes in Hollywood."
But the craziness for Slater may be just beginning. In 1995, he reached a plea agreement after trying to carry a gun on a plane at JFK airport. He also spent 90 days in a Los Angeles-area jail for assaulting a police officer in 1997. Now he could be facing more time. Slater was arraigned on third degree sexual assault charges, a charge that carries a penalty of up to one year in jail.
Slater was expected to appear in court Tuesday. His reps say he plans to be back on Broadway for Tuesday night's performance.
