Extra 'Idol' Makeover: Ryan
May 16, 2005
He may be the most meticulous metro-sexual man on television, but when Ryan Seacrest signs off, he walks into a dressing room that is definitely not up to par.
"Look at this television, it doesn't even get 'Hee Haw,'" joked Ryan.
So "Extra" teamed up with designer Michael Moloney to give him an extreme dressing room makeover.
"When I watch your show, Michael, I am in bed crying," Ryan said. "So I would love for America to cry when they see what you've done. I want tears. So however we can get tears -- that would be great."
Michael and his team needed all the luck they could get -- they only had one weekend to turn the uninspired mess into a hip dressing room.
And they had only moments to spare before it was time for Ryan's big reveal. And when the "Idol" host saw his new dressing room, he was speechless. "You know, I don't even have anything like this in my house," he admitted.
But the furnishings from Z Gallerie and Michael's magic touch made Ryan feel right at home, especially with the former phone closet, which is now a cappuccino closet, complete with a $2,500 Nuova Simonelli espresso machine.
"So I get to keep all this?" Ryan asked.
But wait there's more: like his new clean bathroom from Bed Bath & Beyond. And no dressing room is complete without a champagne suite, complete with Vove Klee Co. champagne and linen-draped walls.
Our thanks to those who helped make Ryan's drab dressing room into a dream come true.
