Extra 'Idol' Makeover: Paula's Princess Pad
May 10, 2005
Her perfect moves made her a pop idol, but backstage
at "American Idol," Paula Abdul's dressing
room was in need of some new choreography. Luckily,
"Extreme Makeover: Home Edition's" Michael
Maloney had all the moves to make it happen.
Paula wanted a tanning booth in her dressing room, the
only problem was, it didn't fit, and Michael had no
clue how to hook it up.
Could it be that the man who makes miracles happen had
finally met his match? Even as Paula showed up to see
the final result, no one was sure if Michael had succeeded.
But of course, he had, and Paula was knocked out at
how Michael was able to turn her pitiful room into a
palace made for a princess. The furnishings from Z Gallerie,
TV by JVC and makeup area by MAC were so perfect, they
even matched her outfit.
And the crowning touch -- a tiara made by designer Sally
Jean Alexander.
But what about the tanning booth that Paula ordered?
When the $36,000 mystic tanning machine didn't fit in
her room, Michael created her very own personal tanning
room, which Paula was happy to share.
And we've got even more "Idol" makeovers in
store as we continue with our renovations of Ryan and
Simon's dressing rooms.
Special thanks to all of the organizations that helped
us make this possible.
