Halle Berry's Aiming for Motherhood
May 9, 2005 Baby
fever is hitting Hollywood. Jennifer Garner and
Ben Affleck are reportedly preparing for the pitter
patter of little feet, while superstar Halle Berry
came straight to "Extra" to deliver
her own stunning baby news.
"I'd love to have a baby, love to be a mom,"
Halle revealed. "And if I don't have one,
I want to adopt a child. I really need that in
my life."
We were with 38-year-old Halle as she took part
in the Revlon run/walk for Women to Aid Cancer
Research this weekend, which is a cause dear to
her heart since she began battling her own disease:
diabetes at age 22.
"Has it changed my life?" Halle asked.
"Sure, but in a good way. It has forced me
to really take care of myself."
And right now a healthy Halle says motherhood
is at the top of her wish list, even if it means
artificial insemination. "I know many people
who have done it successfully," she revealed.
"I still want to experience motherhood, so
that's an option. Somehow I plan on making it
happen."
Meanwhile, tongues were wagging in Los Angeles
over the weekend that Jen and Ben have already
made "it" happen. The cuddly couple
was spotted in Santa Monica where a reportedly
three-month pregnant Jen was glowing.
Although reps for the stars won't confirm or deny
the rumors, Us Weekly Senior Editor Caroline Schaefer
said the timing is perfect: "She's 33 years
old, and I think she doesn't want to wait too
many more years, and I think she's really ready
to settle down with Ben."
Only "Extra" got Ben's thoughts on fatherhood
when he sat down with our Jon Kelley while talking
about his film "Jersey Girl." "I
think I'd be pretty fun," he said. "I
think I'd be the fun dad who goes around and does
stuff."
Who knows, maybe we'll see if Papa Ben lives up
to his own expectations come November.
