Rosie O'Donnell Joins the Cast of ‘The View'
April 28, 2006

"Extra" was first to break the news that funny lady Rosie O'Donnell is set to replace Meredith Vieira on ABC's "The View."

But not everything is rosy for Rosie; she has openly criticized "View" veteran Star Jones and her battle of the bulge, which included a drastic stomach stapling surgery.

"Stars says she's lost weight through diet and exercise," Rosie once said. "Yeah, I'd like to see that b***h do a push-up."

Shock jock Howard Stern, a one-time Rosie critic, has recently changed his tune and has joined her side. " I actually wish Rosie a lot of luck," Stern said.

The "Commander in Chief" herself, Geena Davis, has also jumped on the Rosie bandwagon. "Rosie, I just heard the news. Congratulations," Davis said. "She's a wonderful, wonderful person to spend time with, and that's what ‘The View' is like. It's like spending time with these women, like you're a part of their little group, and I think it'll be great."

ABC is expected to officially announce Rosie's addition to "The View" in the next few days, and you can be sure "Extra" will fill you in!
