Pacino to Join Pitt, Clooney and Damon in 'Ocean's 13'
April 25, 2006
George Clooney, Brad Pitt and the rest of the "Ocean's" team have another heist in the works, and this time around they are bringing along an Oscar winning friend!
It has been confirmed that Al Pacino has signed on to play a high-profile casino owner in the highly anticipated "Ocean's 13." Also on board for the film is actress Ellen Barkin, making the film quite a family reunion.
The film's producer, Jerry Weintraub, worked with Pacino on "Cruising." Pacino worked with Barkin on "Sea of Love," and Barkin worked with Andy Garcia, who is part of Weintraub's "Ocean's" cast, on "Clinton and Nadine."
Needless to say, all parties involved are excited. "I've known Ellen for years," Garcia told us. "I think she's a great actress."
While Pitt, Clooney, Don Cheadle, Bernie Mac and Matt Damon will all return, Weintraub told "Extra" that Julia Roberts and Catherine Zeta-Jones will not be back for round three.
"We wanted to have them in the film, and we tried to figure out a way, but it just didn't fit into the script," he revealed. "We didn't want to ask two stars like Julia Roberts and Catherine Zeta-Jones to do things just to fit them in."
The latest heist film will start shooting in July, stealing its way into theaters next summer!
