Baby Suri Makes Big Impression on Hollywood
April 21, 2006
Tom Cruise is riding high after the birth of his new daughter on Tuesday. The beaming new father and the rest of the "Mission: Impossible III" cast sat down with "20/20's" Deborah Roberts for an update on life with Baby Suri.
"It was everything that we wanted," Tom admitted. "It was spiritual. It was powerful. It was indescribable."
Tom's exuberance had him tongue-tied when he tried to describe the first few days of Baby Suri's life. "You're a mother of two, you know what its like," he told Deborah. "I don't know. It's still something that I'm processing and I keep reliving. All of us do, that moment, over and over again."
Reaction to Tom's new addition continues to pour in, including the first words from Katie Holmes' ex-fiancÚ Chris Klein. "They look very happy together," Klein said. "They really do. I wish them all the best."
"Desperate Housewives" star James Denton, a husband and father of two, gave Tom some advice on his new bundle of joy: "Hire help. You can afford it!"
Even California's first lady, Maria Shriver, was thrilled that TomKat's baby girl was born in the nursery named after her inside Santa Monica's St. John's Hospital. "It's a nursery at St. John's Hospital where I had all four of my kids," she said. "Beautiful nursery, beautiful place to have a child. We took great pains to make sure men could sleep in there so they had no excuse to go home."
Not that you could have kept Tom out of that delivery room!
