Peace, Love and Soul at Soul Train Music Awards
March 10, 2006

Is John Legend taking Beyonce's place in Destiny's child? No, but he did join Michelle and Kelly, the Black Eyed Peas and the Pussycat Dolls on a star-studded red carpet at the 20th annual Soul Train Music Awards.

"This is what I grew up with," Jamie Foxx said. Tyra Banks agreed, "I love soul train. I love Don Cornelius, I though he was the most dope, pimp daddy back in the day hosting the show," Tyra admitted.

Inside the main event, R. Kelly received the first ever Stevie Wonder Lifetime Achievement in Songwriting Award. And only "Extra" was with Stevie backstage as he proudly unveiled his bronze bust: "It felt kind of good (to hold it)," he said.

Quincy Jones handed out two Outstanding Career Achievement Awards: One to Destiny's Child and the other to Jamie Foxx.

And Michelle Williams and Kelly Rowland of Destiny's Child revealed their plans for the future. Kelly is "going to do a sophomore solo album" while Michelle is "going to get her feet in the whole acting thing."
