Martha Stewart Gets Back to Work
March 7, 2005

It was back to work Monday for Martha Stewart, just like the rest of us. But unlike most of the world, hundreds of reporters and cameras followed Martha's every move.

The Domestic Diva addressed her employees Monday with laughs, smiles and the now-fashionable poncho that sent fans scrambling to find out what famous designer made it. Well, it turns out it came from one of Martha's fellow prisoners.

"I love you all from the bottom of my heart, and I'm really glad to be home," Martha said, adding, "Here's my poncho. This was not from a fancy store. This is from Alderson."

It's been a whirlwind of family and friends for Martha since she was released Friday, and "Extra's" been with her every step of the way. She spent her first weekend under house arrest tending to flowers, answering mail and making sure animals at her Westchester estate received lots of love.

And from famous faces like Halle Berry and Teri Hatcher, it was all well wishes for Martha. "I have no doubt she will be fine," Halle said.

"I'm a big, big fan of second chances," Hatcher added.

"I don't think what she did was that bad," "American Idol's" Simon Cowell insisted. "I think she was a scapegoat. I can't wait to see her show."

But would Mr. Mean ever consider going on Martha's TV show? "No, what, to make cakes? Give me a break," he responded.

So no Simon, but between her new show and getting back to the business, we doubt Stewart will be too worried about it.
