Faye Has Her Say on 'The Starlet'
March 4, 2005

It's judgment day for Faye Dunaway as the movie queen takes on a new role: reigning over a new reality series called "The Starlet." And trust us, "Mommie Dearest," she's not.

"I'm not sure this is the right profession for you," she tells one contestant. "This is not the Paris Hilton school of acting."

The new WB series puts 10 young Hollywood hopefuls against each other as they face a three-judge panel that includes a tough-talking Vivica A. Fox. The winner will receive a Warner Brothers talent deal and a guest spot on the network's hit show, "One Tree Hill."

While it may be hard to imagine Oscar winning Dunaway hitting the reality TV circuit, Faye does have her reasons. "You cannot ignore the success this genre has at the moment," she observed.

"The Starlet" even has its own one-liner: "Don't call us, we'll call you," which Faye heard quite a bit back in the day. "Yeah, quite a lot," she admitted.

"The Starlet" premieres Sunday night on The WB.
