Red Carpet Fashion Catwalk
February 25, 2005

Year after year, they're Oscar's most amazing sights: the glamorous designer gowns the stars sport on the red carpet. So, will this year's Oscar darlings color the red carpet in green, fuchsia, tangerine or gold? We've enlisted the help of Lawrence Zarian to give us a sneak peek at the stars' fashion statements.

Zarian hit the Oscar runway for the annual press preview, where Fashion Coordinator Patty Fox told us, "Look at the poster this year -- it has bright colors. Use that as a clue, and the designers are designing around that."

Last year, Catherine Zeta-Jones wore crimson, Charlize Theron shimmered and golden girl Renée Zellweger was all wrapped up in white. But what does that mean for this year?

Zellweger's favorite designer, Carolina Herrera, should know. The Academy Award winner was spotted at Carolina's New York fashion show recently. "Everything she wears looks great on her," Herrera told us. "She has a tiny waist and she likes volume in the skirts."

Superstar Beyoncé checked out Oscar de la Renta's newest collection, but will it be Oscar for the Oscars? "Oscar's clothes are always so feminine and timeless and beautiful," Beyoncé observed.

But when it comes to who's wearing whom, even the designers are in the dark -- just ask couture king Badgley Mischka, who told us, "Oh yeah, we're sitting at home watching it like anyone else saying, 'Is she? Is she?'"
