Star Sightings: Big Names in the Big Apple
February 4, 2005
Will Smith, Kevin James, Eva Mendes
and Amber Valetta were just a few of
the stars who crossed New York's Hudson River to Ellis
Island Thursday night for the world premiere of Will's
new romantic comedy, "Hitch."
Will plays a date doctor and gave us his Valentine's Day advice for men: "You can't celebrate on the 14th because it's too obvious. They're expecting stuff. You got to shock her, you got to surprise her."
Meanwhile, back in Manhattan, get set for "Live
from New York, it's Paris!" Paris Hilton
that is, and "Extra" was with "The Simple
Life" star and her little dog Tinkerbelle at rehearsals
for her hosting stint on "Saturday Night Live."
Paris gave us the scoop on what we can expect to see, telling us, "I play Donald Trump's new wife, Melania, and Jessica Simpson," she told us. "And you'll have to watch to find out the rest."
You can count on it, Paris. And in another must-see,
only "Extra" interviewed the president's niece,
Lauren Bush, before she hit the runway
at New York's fashion week on Friday. She joined first
lady Laura Bush and
celebrities including Sheryl Crow, Paula Abdul,
and Christie Brinkley at the Red Dress
fashion show benefiting the American Heart Association.
Lauren is a budding designer herself and she teamed
up with Tommy Hilfiger
to create a red-hot equestrian themed gown. "I'm
really interested in design and combining fashion with
philanthropic causes," Bush told us.
