SAG Awards: Where the Stars Shine
January 27, 2006
Come Sunday night, the stage at the Shrine Auditorium will be filled with TV and movie stars, including Reese Witherspoon, Matthew Fox and George Clooney. And they're all hoping to go home with the Screen Actors Guild's top honor, the Actor!
Patricia Heaton, who's been nominated 13 times by SAG, told "Extra" she's happy to have someplace to go following the end of "Raymond." "Since ‘Raymond' ended, I basically haven't washed my hair," she laughed.
Other TV contenders include "Boston Legal," who surprised everyone by receiving four nominations -- more than any other TV show. And three is the lucky number for "Grey's Anatomy," whose cast will be on break from surgery to attend the show.
In the movie category, it will be a tight race as "Brokeback Mountain" gallops toward another good night. But "Crash," which is "Brokeback's" big competition, crushed every movie by receiving three nominations, including Best Cast.
But no matter who wins, everyone will get to celebrate. "Extra" will be the only show inside the Entertainment Industry Foundation and People Magazine's post party, hosted by "In Justice's" Kyle MacLachlan.
"It's a terrific night," MacLachlan said. "It's a great setting, and it's a worthwhile cause."
Don't miss the Screen Actors Guild Awards, Sunday night on TBS and TNT!
