Stars Prepare for Globes with Diamonds,
Dates and Desserts
January 13, 2006
The Golden Globe preparations are in full swing at The Beverly Hilton, but Hollywood's hottest stars are getting ready for their big night by hitting the town.
Paris Hilton was right at home at the Silver Spoon Buffet. And Jessica Alba flashed her dazzling smile at the In Style Diamond Information Center Luncheon at The Beverly Hills Hotel.
Globe nominee Kiefer Sutherland appeared on "Live with Regis and Kelly" Friday morning, and he revealed why he was looking forward to Monday night. "It's a wonderful event," Sutherland said. "And you get to see a lot of your friends that you don't normally get to see because of your schedule. So I'm thrilled."
Agent Jack Bauer also let "Extra" in on a little secret -- his date will be the mystery woman he was recently spotted with in the Big Apple. "She's very mysterious," he said. "I'm thrilled to have her as my guest."
On the fashion front, nominee Teri Hatcher has teamed up with Godiva Chocolates and her jeweler H Stern for the Globes. "H Stern was one of the first people to let me borrow their diamonds to wear to an awards show," Hatcher said. "At the Emmys last year, when I was such a has-been, no one would give me a dress."
While Teri will be dazzling in diamonds, Jeremy Shepherd of pearlparadise.com told us to look for plenty of round bobbles on the red carpet. "I'm sure we'll be seeing some long strands," Shepherd added. "Probably dangle-style earrings."
This year's Globe menu will feature beef tenderloin and sea bass from Beverly Hilton Executive Chef Katsuo "Suki" Sugiura. "Every year we try and adapt in different flavors from a different part of the world," Sugiura told us.
Monday night's desert will be a macadamia nut mousse, which was designed by pastry chef Conrad Spitzbart. "It's the film strip," Spitzbart told us. "It's the Globe itself. And then the red raspberry sauce is going to be the red carpet."
Tune in for all of the delectable Globe morsels, Monday night on NBC.
