Ringing in The New Year
January 3, 2005
Nobody knows how to ring in the New Year like the stars and "Extra" went coast to coast this weekend to check out the famous faces, the hottest places and how the VIPs bid farewell to '04.
We got party patrol started in Miami where only "Extra's" Jon Kelley rang in 2005 with Jamie Foxx and Queen Latifah at the Delano Hotel. "It is very fly and very sexy here," Jamie insisted. "Paris Hilton has nothing on this," Queen Latifah added.
Mr. Foxx certainly had reason to celebrate: 2004 was his year, as he became the first man ever nominated for three Golden Globe nominations. "I put it into perspective by saying I'm so happy that the projects were appreciated," a modest Jamie said. "They were all recognized."
Eva Longoria and her boyfriend, former N'SYNC member JC Chasez, spent New Year's Eve partying with Jessica Alba and her date at Miami Beach's PrivÈ. And although Eva wasn't nominated for a Golden Globe, she told us, "I have this next week off to find my Golden Globe dress."
Meanwhile, Miami's new hero, Shaquille O'Neal, heated up South Beach, and nearby at the Mansion Club, Wilmer Valderrama hosted a party where P. Diddy performed and Nicole Richie kissed her DJ boyfriend.
Across the country, the party rolled on at the Aladdin Hotel in Las Vegas, where Anna Nicole Smith crowned the year in a Cinderella gown. And although a court ruled last week to void her $88 million inheritance from her former husband, J. Howard Marshall, and asked Anna to pay half a million dollars in attorney's fees for the case, she still had lots to celebrate and even revealed her New Year's resolution: "I'm very happy," she insisted. "And I will never be heavy again."
She's off to a great, slim start, and here's wishing you all as much luck with all your resolutions.
