Charlie Maher
Correspondent
Charlie Maher is a correspondent for "Extra."
He joined the series in April 2003 as a special correspondent
assigned to cover celebrity events and was quickly named
full-time correspondent for the series' 2003-2004
season.
Prior to "Extra," Maher was a contender on the
reality show, "The Bachelorette" where he vied
with 24 other eligible men for the attention of bachelorette
Trista Rehn. In the series finale, Maher ended up losing
Rehn to Colorado firefighter Ryan Sutter. Maher's
loss on the show, however, resulted in a life win. His
wit and charm caught the eye of "Extra" senior
executive producer Lisa Gregorisch-Dempsey who offered
him a chance at reporting. He was promoted soon thereafter
from special correspondent to correspondent. Maher's
already won the praises from such celebrities as Kate
Hudson, Sharon Stone, Kevin Costner, Jenny Garth and Will
Ferrell.
Maher has appeared on a multitude of television outlets
such as "Good Morning America" and "Oprah."
He has also been featured in magazines such as People,
US Weekly, In Touch and Cosmopolitan. Prior to "The
Bachelorette," Maher was a financial analyst for
almost seven years.
Maher resides in Venice Beach, California. Born in San
Diego, California, Maher spent most of his life in Flagstaff,
Arizona. He graduated with a double major in finance and
economics from the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma,
Washington. |
