Daily Dose

Finding strength in your golden years, strengthening your smile with sushi, and some strong medicine for the morning after… in today's Daily Dose.

If you've been partying a little too hard this holiday season, we've got a sweet way to halt hangover headaches. Eat honey. Spread some on a cracker or toast before or after drinking. Headache experts say it may prevent a hangover. The reason - honey helps get the alcohol out of your system faster.

Dr. Merle Diamond on the effects of honey and headaches.

Even though it makes your mouth burn and your eyes water, don't pass on the wasabi - that fiery green stuff served with sushi. Japanese researchers say it could be good for your teeth. It seems the Asian horseradish contains an ingredient that slows the growth of cavity causing bacteria.

And finally, here's something to think about. On average, people lose five pounds of muscle every 10 years starting after the age of 45. To make sure that doesn't happen to you, start a weight-training program designed to retain and build muscle. In just 10 weeks, you'll see an increase in strength and muscle.

And that's today's Daily Dose.
