Town
On a Diet
The
glittering getup. The nutty name. It's a schtick fitness
trainer High voltage uses to deliver her message: Cut
the carbs, cut the sugar, and move your body an hour
a day. A message the stars are plugging into.
"Today" host Katie Couric wasn't a believer at first.
High Voltage says, "Katie goes 'that's ridiculous I'm
not working with anybody called High Voltage that's
stupid."
But Voltage made Katie a believer. Now this lightning
bolt is sparking a fitness fire under the entire town
of Huntington, New York!
Mayor Frank Petrone announced, "I formally declare at
this point you are all on a diet! The whole town!"
Mayor Petrone kicked off the month long fitness fest.
He admits, "I have to lose a good 50 pounds."
He and his wife Pat will be living the High Voltage
way along with the rest of the town! Every Tuesday night,
Voltage hosts a "feel good, eat right, shake that booty
party" along with her friend and client, caterer Rhona
Silva who donates the food and the space for the weekly
weigh-ins.
Rhona says, "I met High Voltage and she changed my life
and I wanted to change my community."
Rhona lost 40 pounds already and believes Voltage can
change America one city at a time. Voltage says, "I'm
nuts. I love this. I'm on a mission."
And she's not all talk. Voltage is so dedicated to getting
Huntington fit she moved in to the sleepy village where
she can keep a close eye on residents' shopping carts!
Voltage hopes her energy and enthusiasm will jump-start
a Huntington health craze.
