1.) In today's society, women play prominent roles
in business, politics, education, sports, entertainment, and the arts.
What are the two primary contributions pageants make for today's women?

I believe that pageants primarily provide a vehicle for
women to express their ideas about issues that are important to them.
Additionally, I believe pageants provide an outlet for women to pursue
goals related to career, image, and physical and mental health.

2.) What is the single, most important message a titleholder
can convey?
|
|
Transmitting the "universal values" (fairness, loyalty,
integrity, pursuit of excellence, caring, honesty, accountability, respect,
trustworthiness) wherever the title leads you is the key message above
anything else that you speak.
|

3.) Are you currently attending school or involved
in any educational studies? If so, what are you studying? Where? What
are your eventual goals?
|
|
I completed my Master's degree in Family and Consumer
Sciences Education in June of 2000 at Ohio State University. I am in my
fourth year of teaching highschool FCS and attend professional development
seminars weekly. I plan to take courses within the next two years that
will contribute to my goal of obtaining a Ph.D. in Marriage and Family
Therapy.

4.) Are you currently employed? If so, what is your
occupation?
|
|
Yes, as a Family and Consumer Sciences teacher with the
Dublin City Schools.

5.) Name one personal accomplishment (in addition to
being a state titleholder) that makes you especially proud.
|
|
Obtaining a Master's degree in two years while I continued
teaching at the high school level and the college level.
|

6.) What have you learned about yourself during the
past year?
|
1) The depth at which I am willing to stand
up for my career and the importance of family life education.
2) I have learned that my aspirations really are my possibilities. |
| 7.)What is the most daring or adventurous
thing you have done? |
| I went whitewater rafting this past summer.

| 8.) Describe what you think the role of women
will be in the 21st century. |
| I think that a woman's role will be to finally
eliminate the glass ceiling and to achieve pay equality. I also think women
will continue to pay the role of dual breadwinner, wife and possibly, mother. |

with your time and/or resources in the past? |
| Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America
(FCCLA) advisor; Faith Mission-homeless shelter; Mid-Ohio Food Bank; serve
in Emmaus and Chrysalis communities; 3 year elementary church camp counselor.

your view of life? |
| The things you do everyday should contribute
to giving your life meaning. If it doesn't, why are you doing it? |

|
| I treasure the intangible possession of relationships
with my family and friends. |
