1.) In today's society, women play prominent roles in business, politics, education, sports, entertainment, and the arts. What are the two primary contributions pageants make for today's women?
First, pageants help you to set goals and to realize that through hard work and dedication you can achieve anything you set out to do. This allows you to build your self-confidence and gain a better understanding of who you are and what you believe. Second, you increase your communication and social skills, creating an incredible stepping stone for any career path you choose.
2.) What is the single, most important message a titleholder can convey?
Any goal you set for yourself is attainable through hard work and determination.
3.) Are you currently attending school or involved in any educational studies? If so, what are you studying? Where? What are your eventual goals?
I am currently enrolled in Towson University. I plan to graduate with a degree in Business Administration. This, along with my modeling experience, will help me to expand my consulting business to its fullest potential.
4.) Are you currently employed? If so, what is your occupation?
Yes. I am a licensed Stylist and Makeup Artist and run my own Image Consulting business.
5.) Name one personal accomplishment (in addition to being a state titleholder) that makes you especially proud.
Running my own Image Consulting Business at the age of 22.
6.) What have you learned about yourself during the past year?
Hard work, determination and never losing sight of your dream can really pay off.
7.)What is the most daring or adventurous thing you have done?
I have a terrible fear of heights, and, at the age of 12, our family went for a climb up a hill in the Swiss Alps. Needless to say, I was terrified and nearly passed out.
8.) Describe what you think the role of women will be in the 21st century.
Everyone is an individual. There will not be just one path or mold that women will conform to. She will do what is best for her, whether it be a high profile career in the field of her choice or a wife and mother.
9) What charity/charities have you supported with your time and/or resources in the past?
I currently volunteer with the American Cancer Society's "Look Good, Feel Better" program. I work with women who are undergoing chemotherapy and other radiation treatments due to cancer. I help women boost their self-esteem and restore their appearance during this hard time in their lives. In the past, I have been involved with the American Heart Association. I was also featured in The Baltimore Sun for doing "Haircuts for the Homeless" at Baltimore's Opportunity Fair.
10.) What expression/slogan/motto best describes your view of life?
The song lyrics to a popular Chumbawumba song: "I get knocked down, but I get up again - You're never gonna keep me down!"
11.) What is your most treasured possession?
My silver charm bracelet. The charms on the bracelet symbolize various events and accomplishments in my life.
