Holiday
Hair
If
the holidays have got you harried, the last thing you
want to worry about is bad hair. So, we brought Alvina,
Nancy and Krista to the man known as the king of color,
Louis Licari, at his salon in New York in search of
a new holiday do. Louis has his hands in the hair of
supermodels to superstars like Susan Sarandon, Annette
Bening, and Katie Couric.
Louis
Licari adds a little more blonde for Krista, a lustrous
varnish of brunette for Alvina, and some bold blonde
highlights for Nancy. And after the coloring, Licari's
secret for great holiday hair, what else
at holiday time? Ornaments!

More Hair Tips for the holidays…
Make your hair brighter for the holidays. It's
a great time to make red, redder or blond blonder.
Try
a color you like to use for the holidays with
a semi permanent color. Use a warm tone to add
a glow to your hair.
When
covering gray, use a shade lighter than your own
color. The gray will turn into highlights.
Use
your hair color like make up. A few brighter highlights
around the temples will light up your eyes.

He says, "We added these hair accessories - a barrette
or something as simple as a bobby pin, with the faux stones
on it."
For Nancy, the salon chose a ponytail holder embellished
with faux jewels. And for Alvina, Louis says, "We put
in these hairpins, which are crystal and pearl, and it's
just the most elegant of looks."
So Licari's advice? He says, "Don't overtease! You can
put on a great rhinestone comb, or some sort of clip and
look like you're ready for a party."
And when your hair is happy, your holidays will be happy
too.
Louis Licari has salons in both New York and Los Angeles.
