Kate
Spade: What's in your bag
From
purses to clutches to everything but the kitchen sink,
handbags complete a look but hold secret clues too!
Mel Gibson could of found "what women want"
just by peeking in their purses. Kate Spade is the designer
of fashionable handbags for women! She's also the sister
in law of funnyman David Spade and now Kate's an author
too. For her new book "Contents," she talked
to all kinds of women to prove that what's in a purse
reveals a woman's personality.
Kate explains, You can tell a very organized person
by how little they carry in their bag. That is
what I was most surprised at.
The book compares everyone from advertising executives
to teachers to moms. Kate says, There was a restaurant
critic prepared for anything, carrying stain remover
wipes, Advil, a pouch full of stones, even lingerie.
Kate further adds, Then there was this chef
who carried only essentials. She had her wallet, keys,
glasses, and a picture of her baby's sonogram. Basically
we all break down into two categories, organized and
disorganized.
Is that really true? Extras Bo Griffin took to
the streets to find out.
Gotta have your cell phone and dirty girl lip
gloss. explains one passer by.
Bo Griffin asked, If you had to describe your
own personality as it is revealed in your purse, what
kind of woman would you say you were?
Organized, minimal, to the point she said.
Sometimes there may be no point. Some just do it for
the sake of style. Brand names like, Gucci, you see
Bally, Bo loves all of these kinds of brand names.
So what were the "contents" that even shocked
Kate? Kate says, Rope. Some woman had rope
in their bags.
We asked Kate Spade to come clean and reveal the contents
of her bag? Kate said, I need some time to clean
it out. Everyone deserves a junk drawer and that might
be mine.
The book Contents is available at all Kate
Spade Boutiques and at Neiman-Marcus department stores.
