Sarah
Jessica Parker
There's
a change of scenery in store for Sarah Jessica Parker.
She's going from big city on the small screen to small
town on the big screen. But as jerry penacoli reports,
one thing about Parker will never change.
Call it "sexless and the small town" -- Sarah Jessica
Parker's new movie "State and Main" takes sex out of
the city with some very funny results.
Sarah Jessica's always kept it clean, she's known for
baring only the soul and spirit of the characters she
plays. She says, "I've never done nudity. I don't do
nudity. I would like to think that I'm known hopefully
for the work I've done, and not the body parts I've
shown."
So there's a silly irony that Sarah's starring in David
Mamet's new comedy "State and Main." It's a movie about
a movie, in which Parker portrays an actress, known
for baring it all. When asked if people know what her
character's breasts look like, she says, "Know? They
can draw them from memory."
On her hit HBO series '"Sex and The City," Sarah's character
Carrie Bradshaw has managed to be sexy without ever
showing any skin, while some of her fellow cast members
have bared it all. Sarah says, "I think it's wonderful
that they feel comfortable doing it, as long as people
don't feel exploited and feel it's gratuitous, I think
that's grand."
But it's not an issue of showing skin that makes Parker
nervous, instead it's the caliber of talent that surrounds
her. In "State of Main" she stars with Alec Baldwin,
Patti Lupone, and William H. Macy.
Sarah Jessica Parker is lovely and talented and has
proven you can be smart and sexy in the city or out
of it… always with a healthy dose of humility.
She says, "You should approach the job, for me, as if
it's the last chance I have. And who says it won't be."
Besides her movie and TV work, Parker is also a big
UNICEF advocate. She's been raising money for the organization
since she was six.
