Sandra
Bullock is "Miss Congeniality"
It's
a movie that could become number one with a lot of bullets.
It stars Sandra Bullock and it takes F.B.I. gunplay
to the beauty pageant runway. EXTRA looks at some of
the movie's crowning moments.
In "Miss Congeniality" Sandra Bullock plays a pistol
packin' F.B.I. agent forced to go undercover in a beauty
pageant. And as it turns out... Sandy's no stranger
to the runway. She says, "The beauty pageant I did in
college for money 'cuz all the drag queens dressed me
up and I lost."
But Bullock called in some big guns to learn how to
shoot big guns... her next door neighbor in Austin,
Texas is an A.T.F agent.
I shot sub-machine guns. Tthey took to me obstacle courses
and taught me how to fire. Took me through simulators
where you shoot people by accident. I killed a lot of
innocent people. I should not be allowed to have a gun
(laughs)."
But wielding a tiara proved to be an even greater challenge
than a firearm. Sandra's admits she was a tomboy growing
up... fashion was foreign!
She says, "I didn't have any of that. We weren't raised
with magazines in our household. Weren't allowed to
watch TV. Trendy was not something, it just didn't exist.
So once I was introduced to that world, it's frightening.
Still is to me today, because you always feel like you
won't live up to whatever it is that you are supposed
to live up to."
But with this flashy new role, and magazines dying to
make her their covergirl, Sandra is finally living up
to her own expectations.
She says, "I went, 'Oh, I'll never be that. Get over
it.' So I think it comes with, you go through enough
stuff and things just become silly. That's what makes
me happy about age. I look at things and think I can't
believe I spent all that time worrying about that."
So there's nothing on your mind, Sandra?
She says, "I still worry about clothes though. 'Cuz
I'll never wear the right thing. It's like sweat (laughs)."
By the way, "Miss Congeniality" hits theaters on December
22. You don't have to wait that long to see a cool and
stylish Sandra Bullock on the cover of "In Style" magazine.
It's already on newsstands.
