The Wayne Brady Show
Wednesday
August 8, 2001
Watch out “Saturday Night Live!” Move over “Mad TV!” There's a new band of comedians commandeering prime time. It's "The Wayne Brady Show."
|
Wayne Brady is the ever-unpredictable funnyman from " Whose Line Is It Anyway." Before landing on "Whose Line" in 1998, the Florida native actually planned a career in the military, but a stint in community theater set him straight. And now the versatile comedian's taking center stage with his own show.
Wayne explains it as "a musical sketch comedy show. We're throwing everything at them."
Everything from bad boy bands to James Brown. Plus, Wayne says, “You throw in special guests and it really rocks."
One of those special guests: Darryl Hammond. The “SNL” regular dropped by to match wits with Wayne in a sketch of improv and impressions.
Wayne says the real perk to having your own show is you can do anything you want.
