The novel idea came to gear magazine publisher Bob Guccione Jr while he watched "The Late Late Show" one night. He says, "There's always a beautiful girl, someone from pop culture and humor."
Guccione made wisecracking host Craig Kilborn an offer he couldn't refuse: to be guest editor of Gear magazine.

The talk show smart aleck is the first ever guest editor of Gear's special September issue. It’s a new job the funnyman's taking very seriously. He says, "It’s the most important issue ever … spell check everything."
Kilborn's involved in everything. From corralling celebrity friends Bob Costas, Janeane Garofalo and Jon Favreau to contribute articles, to lending his editorial eye for photo layouts. He’s on the cover surrounded by beautiful models. He says, They are all beautiful on the inside. That's why I chose all of them. They are all beautiful on the inside."
Kilborn says editing a magazine isn't that different from
that demands of creating his daily TV show. He says, "I
say yes or no to things everyday. It’s kind of a rush
to be in that power position. By the way this interview
is over." |
