Who will be the next James Bond?
Thursday July 19, 2001

Now as Brosnan gets set to shoot the next Bond film this January, Entertainment Weekly's Clarissa Cruz tells “Extra” there’s a chance this may be his final mission. She says, “ He has one movie left on his bond contract.”

Bosnan’s bond films have grossed more than one billion dollars worldwide, making him the most bankable “Bond” ever so why would Brosnan think about bailing after so much success?

Clarissa adds, “He's had great success with the “The Tailor of Panama” and “The Thomas Crown Affair.”

But if Brosnan bolts, what man in waiting will get the top-secret assignment to play 007?

Clarissa says, “The ideal James Bond has to look good in a tux, be able to handle the accent and he has to have the ability to operate gadgets and lastly have a way with the ladies. While no replacements have been tapped yet, Clarissa says “American psycho” Christian Bale could trade his chainsaw for a Walther PPK.

Clarissa adds, “He looks great in a tux and has a killer accent."

Then again the Aussie Hugh Jackman is a one suave gentleman. Clarissa Adds, “Hugh Jackman starred in “X-Men” which proved he definitely could do the action sequences and he does have a way with women you don’t know if he's going to charm you or attack you.”

One man who comes complete with accent attitude and style is the openly homosexual and sexy star from my best friends wedding hunk Rupert Everett.

Clarissa says, “He does have the accent down pat and he even talked about writing a screenplay featuring a gay secret agent so he is definitely interested but for audiences to accept Rupert Everett in that role is a bit of a stretch.”

But all these b-boys will have to stand-by Brosnan is bond until he says, "The pleasure I’m sure was all mine."
