Jude Law
Friday July 6, 2001

Seems Hollywood’s hottest Brit boy, Jude Law, is suddenly every woman's android boy toy. He plays “Gigolo Joe” in Spielberg’s futuristic “A.I.”

But according to Movieline's Heidi Parker, Jude hopes to be more than just a Brit pack pretty boy. She says, “What he wants to do is stick to really difficult challenging acting roles.”

Challenging indeed: from an alcoholic cripple in the 1997 sci-fi thriller "Gattaca" to the foul-mouthed hotheaded hustler in “Midnight In The Garden Of Good and Evil.”

But it was Jude’s Oscar nominated portrayal of arrogant playboy Dickie Greenleaf in “The Talented Mr. Ripley” that made his Hollywood stock soar.

Ripley led to a storm of publicity about the handsome hunk, landing him on People magazines sexiest list two years in a row. Parker says, “Jude Law has a face unlike any other movie star because it's exotic and very pleasing."

But the 27-year-old London wonder doesn't live like a movie star. Jude and actress wife Sadie Frost and their three children live a down to earth quiet life in England.
