Christopher Reeve Paralysis Foundation
Reeve
tells "Extra," about the irony of the situation. "The
odd thing is I used to ski here as a celebrity. A little
strange for me to be on the other side."
One of the most memorable events of the benefit featured
a celebrity auction that included dinner and a ball
game with New York Mets catcher Mike Piazza and a day
on the set of "The Sopranos."
Wife Dana Reeve served as the event's hostess and footwear
designer Kenneth Cole "stepped in" as "Extra's" exclusive
fashion critic for the evening. According to Dana, "We
were neck and neck (in their ski race) until the end,
and then I let him win."
However, if the Hollywood hotshots and the nation's
top politicos found skiing a little bumpy, there were
plenty of moguls at their elegant banquet. Kenneth Cole
provided "Extra" with his thoughts on Bobby Kennedy
Jr's attire.
Cole says, "Nobody dresses like Bobby. He can get all
dressed up, wear a shirt and tie and leave half the
tie at home."
Also, at attending the event was former lead singer
of The Who, Roger Daltry. "Roger dresses like who knows,"
Cole said.
And the beautiful and talented Gloria Estefan. She says,
"Gloria always looks simple but elegant."
For one evening everybody forgot their personal problems,
but nobody forgot why they were here.
Perhaps Gloria Estefan put it best "To be a part and
support Christopher and his endeavors is definitely
important to me. It's great to see that so many good
friends have showed up."
