Sin
City Facelift
If
someone tells you their Las Vegas vacation is all about
gambling... don't bet on it! Especially if they come
back from the desert looking a lot younger. EXTRA reveals
sin city's newest secret in today's RXtra report.
Whether it's a boost for your bust, a nip and tuck to
tone your tummy or a lift to lessen the lines of aging…
the plastic surgery business is booming. But
if your money's on Hollywood, New York, or Miami as
the country's cosmetic surgery capitols, "odds are"
you're in for a surprise.
Yes Las Vegas, the city with a fake New York skyline
and phony pharaohs has transformed itself into the nation's
new mecca for cosmetic makeovers. But why? Cathy Russell
says, "It's the secrecy of it! The mini-vacation, having
my little rejuvenation vacation and my husband is having
his little mini-vacation."
That's
what drew Cathy Russell and her husband Charlie from New
Orleans. Cathy, who's 49, decided to roll the dice here
with a face lift at Estetika Institute, a cosmetic center
offering vacation packages!
As Cathy gets down to business with Dr. Julio Garcia,
her hubby's at play. She says, "He likes the slot machines
and he loves amusement parks."
By next year, out-of-towners like Cathy will make up half
of Estetika's business. Nearly 80 to 85 percent of the
patients who come to Vegas are women and Dr. Garcia explains
everyone wants to look like a Vegas showgirl. He
says, "They perceive and they understand that the plastic
surgeons in Las Vegas deal with the entertainment industry
quite frequently. So we have kind of an aesthetic eye
for that."
And there are lots of those eyes at work. In the state
of Nevada, there's one plastic surgeon for every 37,500
residents. That's second only to the District Of Columbia!
But it's Vegas that offers the chance to win big, even
if you're going for bust. Jennifer Tice says, "I didn't
have to explain to everybody where I was going and what
for. I just told everybody I was going on vacation."
But Jennifer wasn't the only one who increased her assets
in Vegas... her mother-in-law Cheryl chambers did too!
Cheryl says, "I won big! I won over $11,000 while I was
there."
Remember Charlie Russell? Well, he didn't rack up those
kinds of winnings but his wife hit the jackpot. She won
back a few years thanks to her face-lift! She says, "I
got a lot of time left and I intend to use it!"
And our free advice to you would be to beef up your bank
account before planning one of those surgical getaways.
A facial procedure can cost anywhere from seven to eleven
thousand dollars. Keep in mind that doesn't include airfare
and hotel. If you want to get in touch with Estetika you
