Cop Poses in Playboy
Wednesday May 30, 2001

When 28-year-old Ginger Harrison isn't busy being a wife and a mom, she's "protecting and serving" the citizens of Los Angeles as a proud patrol officer of the L.A.P.D. However, even law-abiding men have to stop dead in their tracks when this arresting beauty says, "Freeze, this is a bust!" Ginger says, “I have a great package. I don't have any complaints, a lot of commendations, everything's been good.”

Before you get the wrong idea, the “package” Harrison is referring to her police performance record. But it's officer Harrison's spread in latest issue of Playboy Magazine that's captured our attention. “Extra” caught up with the off-duty officer this morning, promoting her police Playboy pinup on the Rick Dees radio show in Los Angeles.

Harrison says, “To show a positive side to being a female police officer that you can be feminine and you can have your own thing going on.”

Harrison’s husband, a sports agent, doesn't mind men around the world admiring his wife. It was his idea! Ginger doesn't anticipate the problems that former New York police officer Carol Shaya ran into when she posed for Playboy back in 1994.

Shaya was actually fired for her Playboy spread because she posed in and out of her official police gear. But Ginger was careful not to mix police business with pleasure. Harrison says, “We learned from her experience. We didn't use anything of mine. Everything was rentals or props.”

Meantime, Harrison has no plans of abandoning her career in law enforcement for modeling. She'll be back on duty tomorrow.
