Madonna's
New Video
It's
the violent video MTV and VH1 don't want you to see more than
once, that is. "What It Feels Like For A Girl" is Madonna's
new video directed by husband Guy Ritchie and it won't be
released until 11:30 Tuesday night. However, promotional clips,
sent by the Material Girl's record label set up the video's
violent storyline about an angry woman who takes her grandmother
on a car crash crime spree.
The rest of this video is apparently so disturbing that MTV
and VH1 will show the video "one-time-only" following a news
segment about it. Another clip from the video, showing a tattooed
Madonna putting on a bulletproof vest, debuted at this year's
Grammy Awards.
In a statement released today Madonna describes the character
in the video as "a nihilistic pissed off chick ... Acting
out a fantasy and doing things girls are not allowed to do."
Madonna says "this is an angry song and I wanted a matching
visual with an edgy dance mix."
According to "US Weekly's" Erik Jackson, MTV and VH1 haven't
explained why the video is inappropriate to air more than
once. But one thing has been concluded: their decision is
apparently final.
This isn't the first time Madonna has set-off the MTV censors.
In 1990, the network refused to air "Justify My Love" because
of its strong sexual content. However, even if they don't
agree to replay Madonna's latest video, it's guaranteed to
be a huge hit on the Internet.
According to our report, the racy version of the 1990 hit
single "Justify My Love" video did only air once on TV, where
it was shown exclusively on ABC's "Nightline." And as a result,
it earned the news program one of its highest ratings ever.
