Reality TV 2004
The dust has barely settled on the set of the latest "Survivor," but it is already time for next year’s reality check. It appears we will get much more in 2004.
"Survivor" is back. Executive Producer Mark Burnett says we will see "Survivor All Stars," which premiers after the Superbowl on February 1st.
"Entertainment Weekly" critic Ken Tucker says the "Survivor" rendition likely means the return of the original sole survivor: naked guy Richard Hatch. Tucker says, "There is no way if you bring back Richard Hatch that people aren’t going to want to come back and see this guy, clothed or unclothed."
But that is not all from Burnett's reality-based brain. He teamed up with Donald Trump for "The Apprentice." And next summer he will gamble on "The Casino," which follows the lives of two guys who bought a casino.
Also back in 2004 are the "Newlyweds." Tucker says, "We are also going to see Carmen Electra and Dave Navarro go through this courtship wedding ceremony thing. It's real-life rockers."
Hotel Heiress Paris Hilton is still rocking the ratings. And her "Simple Life" appears to be at the beginning. Tucker says, "They are already talking about spinning off Paris in another show."
