Michael Jackson

Michael Jackson was scheduled to be charged Thursday with felony child molestation. But there is now a new blockbuster about the self proclaimed King of Pop. Apparently Jackson, found a new religion.

Reports say that Wednesday night, Jackson became a member of the Nation of Islam headed by controversial leader Reverend Louis Farrakhan. Jackson’s brother, Jermaine, converted in 1989 and now, according to Us Magazine's Ian Drew, he brought in Farrakhan’s chief of staff as Jackson’s bodyguard.

Drew says, "Michael’s family has been involved with the nation of Islam for a number of years. This is the ultimate move to get their son back and be part of the family again."

Jackson’s latest religious change follows his marriage to devout scientologist Lisa Marie Presley and his longtime devotion to the Jehovah's Witnesses. With his conversion to the Nation of Islam, some say that Jackson may even change his name.

Drew says, "What they are going to do is cut Michael off from everyone and take full control."

Meanwhile, Jackson is free on $3 million bail, but he has won some concessions from Santa Barbara County DA Tom Sneddon. "Extra" learned that Jackson’s passport was returned so he could fly to Britain this weekend.

But before Jackson jets across the Atlantic, his parents will host a party at Neverland Ranch in his honor on Saturday night. Invites went to all of Jackson's longtime pals who may be asked to videotape testimonials of support.

Attorneys for the singer also were back in court in Los Angeles Thursday seeking an injunction preventing the XtraJet charter company from releasing the secret videotapes of Jackson flying to Santa Barbara to surrender.

Jackson was due back in court on January 9th, but to accommodate the singer's trip to Europe, the date for Jackson's arraignment was pushed back to January 16th.

Incredibly, Jackson’s trip overseas may include a commercial flight. Jackson reportedly can't afford a private jet to England, which costs about $100,000 dollars.
