'Cheaper By the Dozen'
Make room for the big daddy of comedy, because Steve Martin is back. This time, "The Father of the Bride," is the father of 12 in the new big-screen comedy "Cheaper by the Dozen." The film is inspired by the 1950’s movie of the same name.
Martin says, "It is a good family film, probably the best out there."
When we sat down with Martin, a couple of his little tattletale costars accused Pop of trying to turn them into demanding prima donnas. But Martin denied it. He says, "Kids don't need advice. They need to be disciplined and kept under control."
That is where Martin fails miserably in "Cheaper by the Dozen," in which he plays a college football coach left to care for the brood when his wife, Bonnie Hunt, goes away on business.
Martin and Hunt’s kids get into all sorts of mischief, one of them with none other than Ashton Kutcher.
But Hunt admits that she got up to some behind-the-scenes mischief of her own with heartthrob costar Tom Welling. Hunt admits to having a longtime crush on the "Smallville" superman, who actually plays her eldest son.
But Hunt’s hands were more than full with Martin and their adorable dozen. Check out "Cheaper by the Dozen," when it hits theatres December 25th.
