Charlize Theron

Stunning Charlize Theron hides inside the "Monster" role of a lifetime. When making her latest film, Theron spent hours in makeup and gained 25 pounds, transforming herself into six-time serial killer Aileen Wuornos.

"Monster" is already getting rave reviews. Roger Ebert called it, "One of the greatest movie-going experiences of my life." And costar Bruce Dern thinks a golden statue might be in Theron’s future.

The film tells the terrifying tale of Wuornos’s killing spree, but also reveals her tender romance with a woman played by Christina Ricci.

Theron also transformed herself into a first-time producer to bring "Monster" to the big screen, but she says it was well worth the risk. Theron says, "It came to me at a time in life where I really had to sit back and reflect on my career, and I had never done anything like this."

"Monster" goes into limited release on Christmas Eve and opens everywhere on January 9th.
