Life After 'Friends'
What will life be like for TV’s top six superstars? Movieline editor-in-chief Heidi Parker offers her post-Friends career analysis. She says, "They'll probably get less money per movie after ‘Friends’ because they're not going to be as famous."
Even at the height of her "Friends" fame, Courtney Cox reportedly made a relatively paltry $5 million for "Scream 3." That's only about one-fifth of the $24 million dollar salary that each Friend takes home annually.
It wasn't about the money for Jennifer Aniston and "The Good Girl." According to Parker, it was the chance at a choice role that made her the odds-on favorite to be a breakout movie star. Parker says, "She made the smart move of starring in 'The Good Girl,’ which proved that she can act. That she's not just Rachel Green."
Also with a bright big screen future is Matthew Perry. With upcoming sequel, "The Whole 10 Yards," Perry's future is looking strong. He says, "If you're ending your television show, you want to have your film career in the best shape it can be."
Lisa Kudrow also should find box office bang with her recent hit, "Analyze That." While Kudrow finds the idea of a Phoebe spin-off "scary," Matt LeBlanc says he "would consider" one for his character, Joey.
And though David Schwimmer will likely put Ross to rest, that doesn't mean the veteran TV actor will entirely leave the venue. Parker says, "How easy would it be for David Schwimmer to go to a drama like ‘ER’ or ‘Law & Order’ and do some kind of role? It's not impossible, and that could be a very good move for him."
However, with nine straight years on the job and all three lady Friends happily married, maybe finding more work isn't a top priority?
