'Survivor' Finale
He is the most unlikely Survivor. Brian Heidik, America's newest millionaire, is a magnet for controversy. Before the show even started he generated headlines when it came out he had acted in soft porn movies. On the island, he generated heat for his take no prisoners style of play. And just this week, his wife was in court on charges she beat him up.
After Thursday night's show, Brian spoke to "Extra" and said he and his wife have patched things up. He says, "It's unfortunate something happened that could have been prevented, but it might have been the best thing for us."
As for his rough and tumble style of play, Brian says, "I actually really had a good time being ruthless out there."
Executive producer Mark Burnett says that despite all this, "Survivor: Thailand" was another ratings winner. He says, "I think what I’ve learned about publicity and controversy [is that] anything that gets people talking about the show eventually helps."
Ted Rodgers was in the middle of another scandal when the married man got a little too close to Ghandia in a sleeping bag. But he told us that he is worked things out at home. He says, "My wife and I resolved the issue a long, long time ago. We're talking about it. We can now laugh and talk about it."
At the after party, some "Survivor" alumni had advice for the franchise's latest winner. Jenna from the first "Survivor" says, "Get a good stylist. You're going to need it for all this."
