Nicole Kidman

Nicole Kidman and Russell Crowe have been pals since they started acting together in Sydney, Australia back in the early 80's. She told "Extra" that she was one of his first friends to find out his plans. Nicole says, "I'm actually so glad that he's going to have a family. And Danielle and he are going to be a great couple. I'm so glad. I adore him."

Kidman was in New York to promote her new movie "The Hours," also featuring her incredible co-stars Meryl Streep and Julianne Moore.

Portraying the tragic author Virginia Woolf, Nicole wears a prosthetic nose and undergoes a remarkable transformation that is already getting Oscar buzz. Kidman explains, "I kind of lived isolated while I was playing her and really just delved into her psyche. It was an intense experience."

On more personal matters, still adjusting to the life of a single mother of two, Nicole tells "Extra" that she and her ex Tom Cruise continue to put their children's needs before everything else. She says, "We've really worked at having a very strong co-parenting relationship. So we can raise our children and that they don't turn out to be too scarred by all of the things that have happened to them."

As for dating, Nicole admits it has been tough getting back on track. She says, "You know I had a knight in shining armor. I would like now somebody that I can really love that really loves me. That would be kind of nice."
