'Star Trek: Nemesis'
Captain Picard and the intrepid crew of the Starship
Enterprise are beaming back into theaters, plotting a course
for the 10th "Star Trek" feature, "Star Trek:
Nemesis."
Patrick Stewart says, "I would say that I think this might be our best work."
But for Stewart and the rest of his shipmates, could this explosive adventure really be the final frontier? He says, "Everybody is of course focusing on the word ‘final.’ Is this it? Is it all over? No, no, no, the important word, the key word, in all of this is ‘begins.’"
Just the hint that the 15-year "Next Generation" franchise may be shipping out has Trekkies up in arms. But their fears are nothing compared to those of co-star Marina Sirtis. She says, "I'm panicking. Forget the ‘Star Trek’ fans. This was a big check every couple of years."
We'll leave it to analytical android Data, the very human Brent Spiner, to put "Trek's" predicament in perspective. He says, "If this movie doesn't make any money, it is the final journey. If it makes a lot of money, it's just beginning."
