'Drumline'

For members of the school's marching band, half time is game time. The fierce competition on the field and off is the premise for the new film "Drumline."

"Extra" caught up with stars Orlando Jones and Nick Cannon from Nickelodeon in New Orleans, where the real life battle of the bands is a generations old tradition among African-Americans from southern colleges. Orlando says, "The Commodores, all of the great bands, The Isley Brothers, are all part of this tradition that this movie is about. So we're really seeing the next level of who’s going to be the next superstar."

"Drumline" beats its way to cinemas this week.
