Stevie Nicks' Home
Friday December 28, 2001

She's known for her unmistakable voice. Stevie Nicks launched into stardom as part of Fleetwood Mac and went on to have a successful solo career. But when the singer/songwriter wasn't on the road, where did she strum her guitar?

She lived in a Bavarian villa hidden in the hills of Encino, California. It isn't easy to find a house for sale with a two-story waterfall and a grotto right in your front entrance.

The first floor has a two-story stone wine cellar with frescos adorning the walls. According to realtor Bob Hurwitz that's just the beginning. Hurwitz says of the family room, "You have 30-foot high ceilings here, vaulted beams, hand-crafted and hand-painted, and a floor-to-ceiling fire place. Just really dramatic and unique."

On the second floor you'll find a touch of the Alps with a breathtaking atrium with handcrafted woodwork, brightly lit living room, and cherry wood dining room.

The third floor has five bedrooms including the master suite that has a closet fit for a star. In her fourth floor office, she counted her platinum records.

And what did Stevie do on floor number 5? She used to use the glassed-in crow's nest at the very top of the house to do some composing. The crow's nest has a 360-degree view and mountain high look at the luxurious pool below.

So how steep is the price for this 8,000 square foot Bavarian chalet? Hurwitz says, "This is a real bargain at $2,495,000."

That's a lot of high "c" notes.
