Lose Those Holiday Pounds
During the holidays we eat, drink, and pack
on the pounds. If you only have a week to repair the damage
and get back into that party outfit, all you need is healthy
cuisine, a quick shape up, and a style switch.
We begin with your diet. Los Angeles nutrition
expert Carrie Lot Wiatt shows us a simple meal plan.
Wiatt says, It is possible to lose three to five pounds
in one week.
For breakfast Carrie will spread peanut butter
on a whole grain English muffin. For lunch she will have some
salmon with stir-fried Chinese vegetables. You get protein
from the fish and those vegetables keep your metabolism burning.
Next have a simple snack of fruit and cheese in the afternoon.
It keeps your blood sugar stable so you can't get hungry on
this! Dinner is a huge cup of vegetable soup and chicken.
Drink lots of water throughout the day, it helps your digestion
and it will flush out those built up toxins.
To help shape up your physique, LA's top gun trainer Gunnar
Peterson says increase your workout to burn more calories.
First thing you need to do is fill up your down time. Go right
from a bench-press, to a set of crunches. Then go right from
your push-downs do a set of rear lunges. Drink plenty of water,
more than you think you need. Do your exercises moving from
the upper body to the lower body. Keeping the blood flow going
will aid to carry toxins out your the body.
The last tip we have for you to look thinner, is be creative
about your style. Super stylist, Lawerence Zarian, met us
at Macy's in Beverly Hills to share with us his slim down
secrets. He suggests dressing in a solid color block. This
creates a longer, leaner silhouette and it looks like youve
taken off five pounds. Another tip is to go up a size. If
you go up a size in your dressing, clothes will drape giving
the appearance you have slimmed down. Body slimmers can also
be a big help. They elevate, they lift, and they support.
There's no reason you can't have a great, lean happy New Year!
