Her
soul stirring melodies and passion charged lyrics
inspire and comfort countless fans. Ryan Seacrest
sits down with songbird Tori Amos on his radio show
"Live From The Lounge" and Tori says for
her, music has always been a gateway to a better
place. |
Tori
adds, It became a real friend to me. I was in a
very religious family in the late 60s and they were
starting to get a little wacky."
Born in Newton, South Carolina, the daughter of a Methodist
minister, Tori sought refuge in the keys of a piano.
Tori says, Music became a place that they could
not enter. I was in mental and emotional combat, constantly."
The ever outspoken Amos, rejected her familys strict
beliefs to follow her heart and her music. Now after more
than a decade of hits, Tori is putting her spin on someone
else's music. Her latest album "Strange Little Girls,"
is a collection of cover songs from male artists like
Eminem and Depeche Mode.
Tori explains, I liked the idea of how men say things
and what a woman hears."
But these days, the only woman Tori hears is her baby
girl, Natashya.
Seacrest asks the question "Do you think she will
develop a passion for music because of the world that
you live and work in?"
Tori anwers, I think she's going to be a dog trainer."
