Roberta Flack
Best known for her smooth sound and classic love songs, R&B legend Roberta Flack is branching out with her very first Christmas album. The CD, simply titled "Roberta Flack Holiday," has familiar holiday hits.
Flack says, "I just love this time of the year. My all-time favorite Christmas song would have to be
'Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire.'"
The CD also has new songs that Flack hopes will become Christmastime classics. She says, "We all did the songs that we loved. I try to record songs that I really am in love with."
The music genius is starting her own record label too and has some opinions on today's top musical talent.
Flack says, "I love Justin Timberlake. I think he is super-talented. And I think Britney Spears is very, very talented in my opinion. For the young people today, she is like Madonna was for you and me. I love India Arie. She is the consummate musician for 2003 or the 21st century, because she writes her own songs."
