'Ed'
It was the pledge "Ed" viewers thought they'd never hear. But if they couldn't believe their ears last week, they're not going to believe their eyes now.
"Ed’s" Julie Bowen says, "It looks like we're finally going to maybe get them to the altar."
It's the perfect setting for a proposal with Victorian-era boaters on the lake, a string quartet playing, ballerinas dancing, and Central Park's Bethesda Fountain for a backdrop. Tom Cavanagh says, "This is only slightly different from shooting at a bowling alley in New Jersey."
Last week's show detailed the stresses of Ed and Carol's long-term relationship, before ending with that surprise promise. Wednesday’s episode picks up from there. And as director Don Scardino tells "Extra," it also has a couple of very special guest stars. He says, "Burt Reynolds and Blair Brown play the parents of Dr. Mike. Mike is Ed's best friend and he's in a quandary because he's losing his best friend."
But as fans have come to realize, things on "Ed" don't always go as you might expect.
