Kobe Bryant

Kobe Bryant came to court on a mission. The superstar's job was to make a good first impression on the judge who will preside over his case.

He arrived without his wife, Vanessa, in a conservative gray suit. He limped a bit, after scoring 19 points to help his Lakers win in Los Angeles Wednesday night.

In court, the 25-year-old learned his trial probably won't start until after the basketball season ends, and the trial will then run about two to three weeks.

But it was an uncomfortable day, as several family members of the woman, who claims that Bryant sexually assaulted her in an Eagle, Colorado, hotel room, were also present.

Krista Flanigan of the D.A.’s office explains why they showed up. She says, "It was to remind everyone that there is a real victim here."

For now, Kobe Bryant can turn his attention back to basketball. His next court date is December 19th.
